Who We Are

We are three regular guys (river rats really) with a passion and vision to share our story with the world.  What ‘exactly’ is our story you ask?  Here it is:  Our adventure initiative is called A Wake in the Current, and under that title we successfully kayaked all 2,300 miles of the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca, MN to New Orleans, LA last summer in 61 days.

All the money we’ve raised and are raising will be donated to the two ministries that are close to our hearts: ICM in Oxford, Mississippi and The Gardere Community Christian School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

We filmed our entire trip and are now using our story to further advocate for these children at risk by sharing our full-length documentary to be released this fall.

Gardere Community Christian School

Keeping students in their neighborhood gives the chance to help build families. Strong families mean strong communities. We believe the whole community of Baton Rouge must reach every child, family, and neighborhood and provide a firm education rooted in God’s Love and Word. The Gardere neighborhood is only the beginning.

Interfaith Compassion Ministry
(ICM), a United Way agency, is
the main agency in the Oxford-Lafayette
County in Mississippi that helps the homeless. ICMs
purpose is to help Oxford-Lafayette residents
when they are in crisis situations, with donations
from A Wake in the Current going toward helping homeless
children and youth.
